Q. What is New To Me Shoes?

A. Newtomeshoes.com is an online marketplace allowing anyone to sell, trade or buy new and worn shoes.  Much like consignment or resale stores, people find that they have shoes that they maybe don’t wear for one reason or another.  This is a great way to sell them and make money.  Buying shoes that are new but not worn, or that are gently used can save you alot of money.  How many times have you bought an awesome pair of shoes only to find they don’t fit you well or were only used for a single occasion?

Q. What does it cost?

A. The basic listings are 100% free!  In the future you will be able to place premium listings for a small fee if you choose.  The site will also be sponsored by advertisements.

Q. Ebay and Craigslist already lets you sell shoes.  Why use New To Me Shoes?

A. Those are both fine sites, but they have limitations.  They are either fee based, or focus on selling to a local specific community.  With this site, you do not have to pay for listings, and are able to sell or buy from a national or worldwide audience in one site.  Plus, this site is made by a shoe lover for other shoe lovers!

Q. I am nervous about buying shoes from someone online..

A. Buying something from a stranger doesn’t have to be scary.  Clarifying as many questions up front will make for a better transaction.  Ask questions about the condition of the shoes, are they authentic or similarly styles as a name brand, what is the return policy if any, how long to receive them, etc.  Likewise, you can do some homework in advance.  Knowing how one brand sizes their shoes versus another helps.

Q.  How do I place an ad for my shoes?

A. It’s easy.  First create an account-  on the main page, upper left menu is the “register” button.  To place an ad, click on the “sell” menu and fill out the form.   Up to four images can be uploaded, with a maximum file size of 250,000 kb per image.

Q.  How do I cancel or edit my ad?

A. Go to the “sell” menu, and choose the “edit or cancel ad” option.  You will need to enter the security key that was emailed to you to continue.  If you don’t have the key, you can request it again by clicking on the “request key” button.

Q. How do I buy a pair of shoes?

A. After viewing the pair of shoes you would like, in the ad you simply click on the “contact” link under the title of the item.  When contacting the buyer to let them know you are interested in purchasing the item, take a moment and clear up any questions you might have.  For example, ask any shipping questions you might have or clarify the return policy the seller has, if applicable.

Q. I bought the shoes, but the seller hasn’t sent them to me.

A. This site runs on the honor system, buyers are expected to pay and sellers are expected to send the item as described in the ad.  Unfortunately, there are people who choose not to do the right thing.  Because this website only brings sellers and buyers together, we are not able nor are we responsible for transaction issues.  Best advice is to report any abuse, and to use a payment service like Paypal that offers some buyer protection.  As a side note, if the price listed is way to good to be true then it might be..

Q. I have a consignment or resale store. Can I sell my shoes on this site? and is it free?

A.  Of course you are more than welcome to sell your shoes!  There are no fees for basic listings, however in the future we will offer premium listings if you choose to use for a minimal fee.  Selling your shoes on New To Me Shoes is a great way to sell your excess inventory and free up store space.  Plus, you are welcome to mention your store in the listing.
